On the 4th, reporters learned from the Postal Administration of Hainan Province that the postal and express delivery industry in Hainan Province maintained a stable development trend in January this year. The total volume of express delivery services received and dispatched in the province exceeded 30 million pieces, marking a year-on-year increase of about 35%. The total volume of express delivery services processed reached 170 million pieces, representing a year-on-year increase of over 16%.
During January, Hainan saw 19 days with a daily express delivery volume exceeding 1 million items, marking a more than 200% increase compared to the same period last year. The highest daily processing volume reached 6.25 million items, providing express delivery services to 60% of the province’s population on that day. Both the monthly total volume of express deliveries received and processed exceeded the total for the entire year of 2015.
Since the beginning of this year, the postal and express delivery industry in Hainan Province has focused on the implementation of the closure policy system for Hainan Free Trade Port, actively cultivating a more open postal and express delivery market.
The Hainan Post International Exchange Office and Exchange Station have achieved stable operation, facilitating direct sealing and delivery of inbound and outbound mail in Haikou. At the Haikou International Express Supervision Center, express delivery companies have achieved an average daily international express delivery volume of approximately 1,600 items for cross-border e-commerce “9610” import business through regular operations of international delivery routes such as Melbourne, Auckland, and Sydney-Haikou. By utilizing full-freighter routes, they have also opened up cross-border e-commerce “9610” export business to regions such as France and South Africa, helping enterprises and consumers “buy from and sell to the world”, better expanding into the international market and participating in the international circulation. Postal express delivery companies provide “in-factory” express delivery services for some beneficiaries of the processing and value-added tariff-free policy in Hainan Free Trade Port, promoting the expansion and improvement of express delivery services, extending them to the industrial chain and supply chain, and assisting the manufacturing industry in reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
The Postal Administration Bureau of Hainan Province stated that it will actively strengthen departmental collaboration, optimize the policy environment, accelerate the construction of the rural postal and logistics system, continuously promote the integration of international express delivery and cross-border e-commerce, and serve the stable development of Hainan’s industrial and supply chains.
